Pokemon Champions Team Weakness Checker

Most new teams do not lose to better players — they lose to themselves. Stack three Pokemon weak to the same attacking type and every opponent carrying that move threatens half your team at once. A weakness checker catches those overlaps while you are still building, when fixing them costs nothing.

PokeSynergy goes a step further than a type chart: it checks your team against the Pokemon actually played in ranked, shows which specific threats exploit each gap, and suggests partners that patch it. You see why something is a problem, not just that it is.

Why stacked weaknesses lose games

In Doubles especially, opponents see your full team in preview and pick the four Pokemon that punish it hardest. If your team shares a weakness to one of the attack types in the table above, expect opponents to bring exactly that. The fix is rarely replacing a Pokemon you love — usually one slot swapped for a partner that resists the problem type restores the balance, and the checker suggests those partners for you.

Check resistances too, not just weaknesses. A solid team has a switch-in for every common attack type: when your opponent clicks the obvious move, you want a Pokemon that takes it comfortably and keeps the pressure up. The analysis view marks those holes as clearly as the weaknesses.

How to use the checker

Add your six Pokemon in the team builder and open the analysis view. Stacked weaknesses are flagged with the live threats that exploit them, ranked by how often those threats appear in ranked battles. From there you can test a replacement in seconds — the analysis updates instantly, so you can compare two builds side-by-side before you ever queue.

Frequently asked questions

What does a team weakness checker do?

It looks at the defensive typing of all six Pokemon on your team and shows which attacking types hit multiple members super effectively. Three Pokemon sharing a Ground weakness means one Earthquake user can threaten half your team — the checker surfaces that before an opponent does.

How many shared weaknesses are too many?

There is no hard rule, but a useful guideline for new players is to avoid three or more team members weak to the same common attacking type. A shared weakness to a rare type is a footnote; a shared weakness to the meta's most common attack types is a losing pattern.

How is PokeSynergy's checker different from a type chart?

A type chart tells you Water beats Fire. PokeSynergy's weakness analysis is connected to live ranked usage, so it tells you which actual Pokemon exploit your weaknesses, how common they are, and which partners patch the gap — explainable threats instead of abstract types.

Does it work for both Doubles and Singles?

Yes. The team builder supports both Pokemon Champions ranked formats, and the weakness analysis runs against the usage data for whichever format you are building for.
