Team notes
Most games revolve around creating a safe Nasty Plot opportunity through Follow Me, Aurora Veil, Friend Guard or Queenly Majesty. After one boost, Heat Wave becomes the main cleaning tool, while Psychic handles targets that resist Fire.
Queenly Majesty protects setup turns from Fake Out and other priority moves. Triple Axel provides valuable Ice coverage, High Jump Kick punishes big targets, and Trop Kick weakens physical attackers while dealing consistent damage. Prefer to start her + Ninetales on heavy prio teams.
It is mainly brought when the opponent’s preview is especially hostile to Delphox—or when pretending Lucario is physical creates a useful surprise.
Snow can occasionally weaken Delphox’s Fire damage, so weather timing matters.
Simple team used this one to go all the way up to Ultra ball 1. This team started with one simple rule: Be odd. The main plan is to create a safe board to give Delphox the space to click Nasty Plot and start melting things. It is less about rushing turn one and more about making Delphox increasingly difficult to stop. Although the fox can be pretty menacing without the setup itself, just be aware that one nasty plot is usually the ideal. Mega Lucario is the alternate Mega for previews where Delphox has a genuinely miserable matchup. It is focused on spA, so the team does not become overly physical, and it helps against bulky Steel-, Rock-, Dark- and Fairy-types. Note that Lucario might need a bit of help since he can't setup as good as the fox, but it's pretty valid. For the rest of the squad we got: Garchomp provides immediate physical pressure and appreciates Mega Delphox’s Levitate. Tsareena as the anti-meta glue, she blocks priority, pressures bulky Water-types and punishes physical attackers with Trop Kick. Ninetales providing Aurora Veil, weather control and disruption, while Maushold protects whichever attacker needs room to work, this family of rats can be pretty bulky with the veil up. The team is intentionally strange since I don't like following the meta that much. Sometimes the plan works perfectly. Sometimes it does not. Either way… Enjoy!
